Participants from Russia, Sweden and Germany attended the third RACIRI Summer School, for which we did the print media. This year’s event, on the island of Rügen, was organised by DESY and focused on the investigation of dynamic processes such as photosynthesis using time-resolved measurements with X-rays and neutron radiation.
One of the highlights was the keynote address held by the structural biologist Ada Yonath, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2009 for her examination of the ribosome.
The RACIRI Summer School is a joint initiative by Russia, Sweden and Germany in the field of material and nano-sciences with a regional focus on major facilities in the Baltic region.
